A Dance with Entropy
Cheryl Dolan & Glen Hartle
Vernissage May 5, 6 - 8 pm
There is energy in the world that permeates everything and is present everywhere. Our exhibit will posit photography as a positive energy for the arts and propose that the medium is under duress from various sources whereby the entropy of photography is in danger.
Cheryl Dolan: Artist’s Statement
For me, photography is about the moments. My artistic ambition lies in capturing the in-between spaces in our lives which we see, but often do not notice. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at their surroundings and discover the beauty there.
Glen Hartle: Artists’ Statement
''A child of boomers, the shifting society in which I spent my formative years moulded my awareness of the world into a broad palette of possibility, salted with contingency and legacy. The camera is my lectern; the photos my account.''
Glen has always been the artsy kid in the crowd and his views of both the world and his craft usually deliver a unique blending of charisma and creativity. He has presented at a variety of exhibits both in Canada and in the UK and is known for being non-conformative in his beliefs and representations. Born on a farm in rural Alberta, Glen now finds a rebirth in roots as he grows into his new life on a farm in rural Quebec, and his art reflects this in a form of reaffirmation of self. He has been a member of ArtPontiac since 2015 and is honoured to be a part of the exhibit schedule for 2017.
