DEBRA WEBB-LAMBDEN has been involved in the arts since she was a child. Coming from a family of musicians and songwriters, she began performing professionally at the age of 14. She has been drawing from childhood and bought her first set of oil paints at the age of 13 by saving up her allowance.
Her first oil painting was a portrait. Alternating between a choosing a career in music or fine art, she attended Commercial art courses in College for a few years. While in Calgary she successfully began to display and sell her artwork.
Thoughout her life, Debra has also combined working in several other fields related to art in the printing industry, established a small picture framing business, created and taught wildlife drawing courses through Algonquin College.
Debra's work has been exhibited, commissioned, or collected by many individuals and established institutions over the years such as:
The Calgary Stampede, the Western Art Show, Mount Royal Collage-Alberta, the Federation of Alberta Naturalists, I.L. Peretz School - Alberta, Ducks Unlimited, Gulf Oil Ltd., The Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
