Membership
A person can become a member as long as
he or she:

1.  is interested in participating in the activities of the association
2.  respects the mission and rules of the association
3. is accepted by the board of directors
4  if applicable, pays the membership fee for the year

Membership catagories

Voting Members

General Member:  An individual member who does not consider themselves an artist but wants to participation as a member of the PAA.  Fee: $5.00

Non-professional Artist: An artist that is still studying or in training in their field, or does not meet the criteria for ‘Professional Artists'.  
Fee: $10.00

Professional Artist: A professional artist is defined as an artist who is self-taught or formally trained, or both, has competence recognized by his peers in his discipline, and creates or interprets works that are disseminated in a professional context.

         To meet the above definition of a professional an artist must:

  • be committed to devoting more time to artistic activity.
  • have produced an independent body of work
  • have produced work that is frequently and/or regularly publicly presented
  • maintained an independent professional practice for at least three years.

              Fee: $20.00

Patron: An individual who contributes monies over and above that of the ‘Professional Artist’ category.

  Fee: Anything above  $20.00

Non-Voting Members

Guest Member: A guest member is given a temporary membership to the PAA by decision of the PAA  board, i.e. a professional artist that is brought in from outside of our region for a special course at     PSOTA, a workshop, an exhibition.   Fee: $00.00

Organizational Member: An organization or association that contributes at the Patron level

     Fee: Anything above  $20.00
